Tip of the day (salt)

Every winter the councils pour tonnes of salt and grit onto the roads. Its a cyclist's worst enemy. It eats away at the metal on your bike. It leaves alloy pitted, chrome rusty, clogs up your cables and rots your tyres. If you've been out for a ride and ridden through the salt make sure you give your bike a quick wash with hot soapy water before you put it in the garage. Make sure you also stick your clothes in the washer as it will be rotting them too.
